Public Events: Coordinated campaign events held within communities and institutions by organising groups to raise awareness about men’s gendered roles. Thus, through theatre, film-shows, discussions and debates, wall writing, rallies and so on, interested men and boys identified as potential Samanta Saathis.
Building Capacities: Identified men and boys provided opportunity to learn more about gender, equity and masculinities issues and suggestions on bringing about social change. Interactions with them through face to face, mobile phone based and also online means. Curriculum and methods of this capacity building drawn from current practices of working with men of Ek Saath partners. Contemporary ICT methodologies used to reach out to the tech savvy, and a non-IT dependant mechanism for those who cannot access these methods. On completing the training process, a 'certified' Samanta Saathi receives a ‘kit’ aimed to inspire and support them in their actions. Civil society campaign partners function as ‘mentors’ for the Saathis.
Networking &Community Action Groups: Organised into networked groups, Saathis support and motivate each other. Encouraged to create community action groups for support and to take collective action. Informand Inspire: Sharing of actions of Samanta Sathis and Community Action Groups through various media. Community sensitisation activities by them create next cycle of the campaign and identify next group of Saathis.
