The Odisha Ek Saath State hub organised a series of sensitization meetings at educational institutes and communities from the start of the 16 Days of Activism period on November 25 onwards.
Streets plays were held and there was a tie up with 92.7 Big FM for Ek Saath campaign promotion and talk shows.
All these activities led to the identification of almost 100 men and boys keen to develop a deeper understanding of gender issues and take action for change to become a Samanta Saathi.
Some highlights of the campaign in the state was that it managed to enthuse the youth in particular. Also, the campaign benefitted from collaborating with other campaigns. OBR was a major partner. As were LGBTQ groups. The Ek Saath campaign also collaborated with the 'Awaaz Do' campaign which held a state level youth convention to address gender based violence.

The large scale mobilisation in Odisha was the outcome of months of detailed planning and coordination. In September 2016 the state hub coordinator, Institute for Social Development, organised an orientation meeting in Bhubaneswar for identification of strength and potential stakeholders in Odisha.
